Estrogen Effects

We evaluate your estrogen effects caused by TRT, in that you may require an estrogen blocker such as Tamoxifen, Arimidex or another agent. The reason this is important is that TRT can cause increased levels of estrogen with side effects such as gynecomastia, breast discomfort, cloudy thinking and even water retention. Though rare these conditions can be a direct result of excess estrogen. We must balance this with the very good benefits of TRT when needed.

Testicular Shrinkage

Though not common, TRT can lead to testicular atrophy since they do not have to work as hard to maintain testosterone levels. If you don’t use it you can lose it. This can lead to lower sperm counts and other issues. We have found that hCG when combined with testosterone therapy can prevent this as well as reverse some of the changes. This is well known to body builders who have been on too much “juice”. Proper balance of these therapies is done by state of the art clinics, where many do not even know of this.

Medical Monitoring

TRT can have some side effects and that is why its best to have an experienced health care professional monitor your progress. This will include laboratory blood test every 3 to 6 months or as needed. We will start off the initial consultation with required blood test many times paid for by your insurance. Then we will require another test at 4 weeks, 3 months and 6 months to make sure your testosterone levels are optimal and check for unwanted side effects.

Cost Considerations of Testosterone Replacement Therapy.

The out of pocket cost for the TRT program at Infinity Life Center will vary depending on your individual circumstances. The initial consultation, if not covered by insurance will be 150.00 dollars and if you receive an initial injection of testosterone the total office visit and injection is 175.00. The men’s wellness monthly TRT program will range in cost from 95.00 to 250.00. Laboratory cost if not covered by insurance are not included in these figures. We will do all we can to keep your cost minimal and maintain quality and safety.
